Another day in the field

Had another day in the field today. Tried out several locations. Went a short trip to the marshlands of Gjennestadvannet. A couple of Common Cranes, a Gray Heron, and a Whooper Swan were the highlights. But they were all far away and the lighting was pretty hard, so the pictures became more of a documentary style. After a lunch brake, and a nice "photo talk" with Photograper Geir Solberg, I tried out more marine conditions. Went to Bliksekilen, a bay close to Exxons oil refinery, that luckily has become a Nature reserve.  Several types of geese, gulls and a white wagtail. A couple of Black-headed Gulls and a couple of Eurasian Oystercatchers became my motive.

Got some more prosessed Willow Ptarmigan pictures.  When I took the pictures, the wind was right, and I patiently apporached one step at time. Staying low moving slow. Started about 150 m away and ended about 5 m away. The "spring colors" the male Grouse gets is starting to appear, but I believe it´s about 3-4 weeks until the neck is brown. Still more pictures to come. Please enjoy!

I have processed my pictures of the Golden Eagle taken last week. Here are the best. This is a juvenile Eagle. The characteristic white quadrates underneath the wings that the adults have are not yet visible. I spotted it several times in the beginning of the week. It´s fantastic to watch this majestic bird. I hope you enjoy my pictures :)

End of Easter Holiday

Back home after 7 wonderful days in alpine conditions. Now it´s fast internet broadband access and "kickass" iMac screen. I will publish some of my pictures the coming days. Here are some pictures from my backup camera.

Mountain shoot - Grouse

Had a wonderful day at the mountain today. 5 degrees below zero, light breeze and bright blue skies. Yesterdays snowfall made everyting nice and white. Spotted a cuple of Willow Ptarmigan - Grouse. With a littlebit of sneekieness I managed to get so close that I could also use my wideangle lens on my backup camera. I'll return with some prosessed pictures. Here's a sneekpeak ;)

Easter holiday - mountain session

Easter holiday just started. Spending time at the east side of Hardangervidda, one of Norways largest mountainplataus. 1000 m above sealevel +. Temprature is shifting between 10 below zero to 5 above. And freezing winds. I've been exploring this area for about 8 years now. I don't think i've ever seen so little snow at this time of year. Spotted a juv. Golden Eagle today. Got some nice pictures, but no macbook yet, so I'll return with some prosessed pictures next week when I have my Imac and broadband internet-conection :)
